Meirav, why i this not showing up on my Calendar ??
qhyyim wrote on May 1
now that i've commented on it,
i went back and guess what --
not even showing in "Posts You've Replied to"
qhyyim wrote on May 1
it just won't show in my "inbox"
whatever i do!

so, i don't even have the option to "pin" it
should be available on every post,
as it is i must do it via the "inbox"

well i tried the workaround
http://multiply.com/item/set-sticky/meirav:calendar:10009/true
and -- no it still won't show in my "inbox"

other Calendar-items do show up just fine---

and why is it showing you as
"Last Login: May 1"

it is now very much May 1 --
should be saying
"Last Login: xxx hours ago"

here's an idea -- just suppose i had it "blocked" ( in its earlier incarnation back in 2007 )
    i don't believe this happened,
    but just suppose
-- well what mechanism do i have to get it un-"blocked" ?????
( the "blocking" is done by JavaScript, unlike the "pinning" )

Hmmm... Interesting. When I posted this I chose the setting not to have it show in people's inbox, because I didn't think people who knew me needed notification - my contacts who are interested in the conference know about it without me telling them, so it's really here for passersby more than anything.

But strangely this means I didn't even get an email alert about your responses - only saw this now because I was looking this up for a different reason. So maybe I should stop this politeness and get them to send notification to the inbox about everything I post! (I'm going to go see if I can edit and change the setting now.)

Ok, I've edited it and changed the setting - let's see if that solves the problem.

yes, thanks,
now it does show up in my "inbox"
i did have to re-do the "pin"

Jewish food? Can you even find good bagels and knishes in the UK?

Speaking of the UK, as of this week, we are now allowed to key Northern Ireland as United Kingdom (DOS straightened my supervisor out). But there's a glitch that I don't dare tell my supervisor (she's more nitpicky than me, only she doesn't like to be corrected and will refuse to admit she could have made an error). She forgot to mention that Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are two different things, where the latter should still be keyed as Ireland. Whoops.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for the geography update, Leigh Ann :-) Whoops indeed - you'd better not mention this new glitch to anyone Irish or you could restart a war.

As for the conference, I didn't say anything about Jewish food - just food! But there are places in England where you can get good Jewish food (just sadly not where I live) - Golders Green in London is a Jewish neighbourhood with a high street that reminds me of Tel Aviv and a fantastic Jewish restaurant called Blooms. I expect there are other places - wherever there are enough Jews there will be good Jewish food. But the conference centre we're using isn't Jewish - somehow I don't think Messianics would be very welcome at a Jewish conference centre.

Haim, I'm glad I managed to resolve the issue - I don't think I'll do this sort of thing again, I've learned my lesson.

P.S. Haim, regarding your other question about last login - it seems that that is the way this feature is functioning. I just clicked your headshot and got: last login 2 May. I'm not sure if this is how it's always been or not. I know that when I look at viewing history I get the actual time if it's today, but when clicking on headshots it seems to be behaving differently.
meirav wrote on May 2, edited on May 2
Hmmm... not true. When I clicked on someone else's who visited more recently, I got: last login 49 minutes ago. So I'm not sure what's going on. [shrug]

yes, i saw it with minutes too
perhaps it only works with minutes
and shows the date when more than 60 minutes
qhyyim wrote on May 5
yes, this time i watched it go from 58 minutes to showing just the date
